If you don’t wanna read, just get the plugin: Testimonials Submissions on GitHub
Like many of you, I have some go-to plugins that I like to use. They are by trusted developers, and the are built in a way that works for me. When I need a way to add testimonials or reviews to a website, I find myself using Testimonials by WooThemes plugin. Apparently I’m not alone, at the time of this post the repo shows 40,000+ active installs. Wow!
There have been a few times that I wanted to allow users to post testimonials/reviews on the website. Since I’ve been getting into CMB2 quite a bit lately, I decided to build a nice, slim plugin to allow just that… front end submissions of testimonials. The plugin includes CMB2 in it, so you don’t have to include it separately. If you are using CMB2 for something else already, don’t worry, it’s built to only load the most current version once, regardless of whether other plugins are using it or not. For now, my plugin is only on GitHub.
Here’s an example of the form used on my Genesis based starter theme.
Hooks & Filters
I’ve added a bunch of hooks and filters to allow users to change or add some functionality. Check the documentation on GitHub for more info and code snippets.
What are you waiting for… go check it out!
